January 2011 Newsletter

The Next Meeting will be on Thursday, January 20, 2011  7:00 PM, at the County Extension Office, 2825 Santa Fe Court located behind Albertson’s off Mullan Rd.

Special thanks to: Shane, Ryan, Jamie, Renae’ and Russ Parrish for hosting this year’s  Christmas party.  There was a nice turnout of members and family to this event.  Lots of food and treats made this event a challenge to stay out of the kitchen.  The caroling and gift exchange completed the evening.  The generosity of our club members toward our service project families is to be noted and admired.   Seth will report on the outcome of the donations.   The passing on of our Blue Mountain traditions through giving to others is a thank you to every one who attended the Christmas party, participated in the caroling and service project donations.

Project books will be handed out at this meeting.  Several parents have volunteered to be project leaders for our club.   If you are enrolled in a project that does not have a leader in our club then you will be assigned a leader from another club or a county wide leader.  Please make a special effort to include the cloverbuds in your projects.  We will recap our members, leaders and check for enrolment completeness.

Winter Ready Your Wheels Service Project:    Please read about this project in the news section.  I did attend the TV interview in Helena the other day.   The State values our participation in Service Projects and the Serve Montana Program.

Do we Need a larger Meeting Room ?    Be prepared for a serious discussion on this issue.

For the past number of years our Club has visited a Nursing Home in February. This is a very rewarding service project.  We need to schedule a date, time and one or more parent volunteers to coordinate this community service project.  The residents enjoy it when we bring pets (almost anything goes) for them to pet, books to leave, musical instrument to play for them, and for us to take some time to sit and visit.

We do need a parent volunteer to print and laminate the Club Phone book.

This resource is a great help to the club.  If you have comments and suggestions, then please bring then to the meeting.
